Newton Aycliffe Bio-CNG Station - Opening Announcement

CNG Fuels are pleased to announce that we have now completed the development and commissioning of our latest Bio-CNG Refuelling Station in Newton Aycliffe. The station is now fully operational and open to all current and future customers.

The address for the new site is:

CNG Fuels. Newton Aycliffe, Newton Park,

Coatham Mundeville, Darlington, DL1 3NL

The station is located directly off Junction 59 of the A1(M). This station will serve both local businesses with large HGV fleets and passing fleets using the A1(M) and will introduce fleets from Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, and Darlington to Bio-CNG as a transport fuel for HGVs.

The station at Newton Aycliffe comprises 14 refuelling dispensers, allowing more than 60 trucks to be refuelled per hour with a total capacity of more than 27 million kilograms (kg) of Bio-CNG annually, making it CNG Fuels’ highest capacity station to date.

Bio-CNG is considered the lowest carbon and most cost-effective alternative HGV fuel to diesel, reducing emissions currently by 90% vs Diesel, whilst also providing 30-40% lifetime fuel cost savings.

This is now CNG Fuel's 11th large-scale public access Bio-CNG Refuelling station to become operational, the other locations include; Warrington, Avonmouth, Bellshill (Scotland), Leyland, Erdington (Birmingham), Northampton, Crewe, Newark, Knowsley (Liverpool) and Castleford.

CNG Fuels are currently in build with two other Bio-CNG stations, located in Corby & Bangor (North Wales) and expect to have these operational over the next few months. There are many more other locations in our development pipeline, with some of them due to go into construction imminently.
